HRI is committed to supporting continuous professional development and life long learning for employees in the thoroughbred racing industry through the Careers and Racing Education (CARE) Department. This CPD page will provide details of upcoming courses or seminars as well as highlighting courses that may be of interest to groups within the industry such as the Certificate in Dual Career Development (Sport) in Griffith College which is specifically designed to address the needs of sports people in the area of professional development and transition management. The programme has been developed in consultation with the Irish Institute of Sport and is suitable for both current high performance athletes in preparation for their future and recently retired sports people and may be of particular interest to professional Jockeys who are planning for life after race riding, click the button below for more details.

The conference will include presentations on physiological adaptations to training, performance injuries, risk factors and prevention and different training techniques delivered by industry experts. This is a one day conference running at CAFRE's Greenmount Campus in Co. Antrim.
